SUSTAINABLE RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION- CHRISTMAS LEFTOVER RECIPES
This past Christmas we decided to put together a selection of festive recipes from a number of Friends of the SRA, including restaurants across the UK, food bloggers, and more. These recipes have a sustainable twist and use many of the foods that will be leftover after your Christmas feasts. It includes eleven different recipes to help you use up those tasty Christmas leftovers. It is free to download but we hope in exchange for these delicious recipes that you’ll consider making a small donation to StreetSmart, the charity organisation that helps raise money for homeless charities across the UK. Every £1 donated will be matched by the Cabinet Office to help get the homeless back on their feet. You can make a donation via StreetSmart’s Just Giving page.

SUSTAINABLE RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION 2010-2011 REPORT (Summer 2011)
Six months on from our first update of activity we’ve come on leaps and bounds with increasing numbers of members and our Star Rating system really taking off. Our members now range the breadth of the country from The Milton in Aberdeenshire to St Mary’s Hall Hotel in the Scilly Isles and look out for our Star Rated restaurants, soon to be featured in several restaurants guides. We’re also busy planning the launch of our upcoming ‘Too Good to Waste’ campaign to reduce food waste across the industry and as always working hard to spread sustainability to more even more restaurants. We’ve come a long way in just under 18 months.
SUSTAINABLE RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION 2010 REPORT (November 2010)
It’s amazing to think that this time last year the Sustainable Restaurant Association was still deep in planning, four months from launch and being told more than once that what we were attempting was wildly overambitious. Today we are working with 500 restaurants from across the industry – from the finest of fine dining to small family concerns, from gastropubs to high street chains. We have members in England, Scotland and Wales, representing the cuisine of over 30 nations and each week more decide that sustainability is something they want to take seriously and contact us to join our association. In our short life to date we have managed to secure a place for ourselves in a tempestuous industry and a reputation for providing practical support that focuses on helping restaurants achieve long term success. Looking forward, the next 12 months will see more of the same, more restaurants, more action, more positive change. We are also developing more services to support members and working to influence the bigger picture. These are exciting times and with your continued support we can make sure that the SRA remains at the centre of the industry’s sustainability ambitions.
SRA002: SRA FOOD WASTE SURVEY ‘TOO GOOD TO WASTE’
To elevate food waste to an issue that receives serious attention, to get restaurants to change the way they do business and to potentially invest in new equipment we need to understand the issue in detail. This research, carried out with the fantastic support member restaurants, is a step in the right direction, helping to demystify restaurant waste and put some serious numbers to the money that could be saved, as well as the environmental impact avoided, through greater awareness and better management of waste.

SRA001: SRA CARBON REDUCTION COMMITMENT (CRC) GUIDE
The Government has brought in new legislation to encourage businesses to use less energy. We know that some of our Members will be affected by this new legislation. We also know that hundreds of companies who will be affected are not aware of it, or of what they should be doing, and could face fines for non-compliance. If your business qualifies, you need to register with the government by 30 September 2010.
